THOMASTON TIMES PART OF A MERGER

ACCODING  TO  THE  GEORGIA  PRESS  BULLETIN,  THE THOMASTON  TIMES  AND  THE  LAGRANGE  DAILY  NEWS  HAVE  BEEN  ROLLED INTO  NEW  OWNERSHIP  ALONG  WITH PARENT  COMPANY  HEARTLAND  PUBLICATIONS.

HEARTLAND  HAS BEEN  COMBINED  WITH  THREE OTHER  NEWSPAPER  GROUPS INTO  CIVITAS MEDIA  LLC , ANNOUNCED  VERSA CAPITAL MANAGEMENT LLC  ON  SEPT. 12. VERSA, A  PRIVATE   EQUITY    INVESTMENT  FIRM, OWNS  ALL  OF THE  COMPANIES INVOLVED.

FORMER  HEARTLAND  CEO MICHAEL  BUSH  LEADS  THE  NEW  ENTITY,  WHICH COMBINES  THE  ASSETS OF  OHIO  COMMUNITY  MEDIA,  FREEDOM  CENTRAL  AND IMPRESSIONS  MEIDA WITH  THOSE OF  HEARTLAND, GIVING  CIVITAS MEDIA  NEARLY  40  DAILY NEWSPAPERS  AND  DOZENS  OF  WEEKLIES  ACROSS  THE MIDWEST,  MID-ATLANTIC, AND  SOUTH.
